Crash Service Director Jonathan McKeown & U105FM’s Frank Mitchell with Crescent Link Station Commander Kieran Doherty following his Emergency Services Person of the Year Award at the NI Road Safety Awards

THE Fire & Rescue Service enjoyed a fantastic inaugural NI Road Safety Awards at the weekend by winning two individual awards, as well as being one of the main partners in two of the team category awards.

And Derry was among the prize winners.

Crescent Link Station Commander Kieran Doherty picked up the Emergency Service Person of the Year award.

Newry Station Commander Rory Dumigan received the NI Road Safety Lifetime Achievement award,

Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service was heavily involved in the Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon PCSP Young Passengers and Driver’s (YPAD) scheme, which won the Secondary School prize.

The RoadSafe Roadshow in partnership with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council were joint winners in the Public Sector campaign.
