THERE is sadness today at the loss of another life on the roads in Co Derry.
Police have confirmed that a 20-year-old man out walking has died following a collision in Garvagh this morning.
The pedestrian was struck by a Volkswagen van on Tirkeeran Rd at around 7.40 am.
Inspector Donna Bowden said: “We are asking any witnesses to the collision to get in touch with police.
“The number to call us on is 101,” she added.
The road has been closed and motorists are advised to seek an alternative route as police examine the scene.
