Cllr Kevin Campbell

SINN Féin Councillor Kevin Campbell has once more reiterated his Party’s commitment to the full delivery of the Foyle Valley Gateway (FVG) project.

Cllr. Campbell said: “I welcome recent funding announcements around developing the Brandywell Stadium and other facilities.

“This development is an integral part of delivering on the FVG. Sinn Féin has championed this project over many years and the recent announcement will now see the redevelopment of Brandywell Stadium, the Showgrounds and the Daiseyfield.

“€8million has been sourced in funding – €6million from Derry City & Strabane District Council which we are satisfied will produce a fair and equitable development programme while protecting the best interests of the ratepayers.

“Sinn Féin has met with all of the current and potential users and will continue to be available for engagement and discussion as required in the future.

“As with every development this one will not be without challenges but with all interested parties working positively and collectively I have no doubt that any challenge can be overcome.

“For our part in Sinn Féin we are committed to this project and determined to see it through”.
