Fire crew sceneOFFICERS from Magherafelt Local Policing Team went above and beyond the line of duty to save a house holder from a fire in Co Derry at the weekend.

The PSNI say the LPT officers were at the scene of a house fire in the New Road area of Castledawson on Saturday.

“At around 10.36 pm, officers were on patrol in the area and came across a house fire with a person reported as being on the premises.

“Officers entered the premises, brought the householder to safety, administered First Aid and evacuated neighbours pending the arrival of NIFRS.

“There is no suggestion, at this stage, that the fire was anything other than accidental.”
