CourtsNews DERRY WOMAN GIVEN SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR BENEFIT FRAUD September 24, 2015 A woman has been convicted at Derry Magistrates’ Court of benefit fraud. Joanne Beattie, of Moss Park, Derry, claimed Income Support totalling £2,790 while failing to declare she was living with her partner. The 36-year-old was given a three month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. The district judge ordered her to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
