THERE is more grim news on the bleak jobs front in Derry.

It is claimed 15 people working at Hunter Apparel in Springtown are being axed from their jobs.

The posts will go from right across the company as Hunter Apparel look to make savings after losing a number of public service contracts.

The workers, who are currently off on full pay, will lost their posts from next Tuesday, September 8.

Sources said the staff were left “devastated” when they were told by management they were losing their jobs.

“Some people have been here a life time. They were almost part of the furniture. They are absolutely devastated,” said one source.
