MCCROSSAN CALLS FOR AN END TO POLITICAL GAMES OVER A5

West tyrone protestSDLP West Tyrone representative Daniel McCrossan has called for an end to the politicking and political games being played with the development of the A5.

He said: “The A5 project is hugely important both for West Tyrone and the wider North West.

“It is too important to be used as a political football between parties seeking advantage in the run up to an election but sadly that’s what we’re seeing more and more of.

“I note the comments made by Sinn Féin representatives suggesting Danny Kennedy has dragged his feet for political reasons.

“Perhaps Sinn Féin need reminding that they held the Regional Development Ministry for long enough under Conor Murphy and had ample opportunity to progress this infrastructure project.

“Their hypocrisy is astounding and if they’d been half as committed to delivering the project as they are to seeking political advantage, we might be in a better place.

“What we need now is leadership from all parties to get this project over the line and deliver for local people. T

“That means putting an end to the games and the partisan blamesmanship. People deserve better and that’s the approach the SDLP will follow.”
