Sinn Fein MLA Raymond McCartney welcomes 100 new jobs for Derry

SINN Féin MLA Raymond McCartney has welcomed the announcement of over 100 new jobs at Metaverse Mod Squad to be situated in the old City Shirt Factory.

Mr McCartney said: “Metaverse Mod Squad is one of the world’s premier digital media service providers specialists.

“Its impressive list of customers include some of the biggest names in entertainment including Warner Bros, Cartoon Network and Sony Online entertainment as well many businesses in different fields of communication.

“The announcement today of the creation of 100 new posts to be situated in the heart of the city is a welcome boost for the local economy and I believe this can be built upon.

“With the Kelvin network providing the quickest internet connection between the US and Europe, a highly educated and conscientious workforce and modern office space Derry is an ideal site for Metaverse Mod Squad to develop its business.

“I hope this announcement can be the catalyst to attract similar companies into the North West so we can develop a digital industry in the Derry area.”
