POLICE are investigating after a six-year-old boy was taken to Altnagelvin hospital after being knocked down in the Waterside area this afternoon.
The incident happened shortly after 4.00 pm on Tullymore Road in the Currynierin area.
It is believed the primary school boy was hit by a car after getting off a bus.
The boy was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact police on the 101 non emergency number.
