A leading Co Derry hotel has scooped a top gong at the Restaurant Association of Ireland Awards in Dublin.

Ardtara Country House, on the Gorteade Road, Upperlands, won the Best Hotel Restaurant.

And Church Street Restaurant in Derry won the award for Best Customer Service.

Anthony Gray, president of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, said: “Ireland has so much to offer.

“These awards remind everyone of the quality and class of Irish restaurants and chefs.”

Outside of Derry, Belfast restaurants won four, including Best Newcomer award for Michael Deane’s Eipic, while Ox received the accolade of Best Wine Experience in Ireland.

The Best Restaurant Manager was named as Saul McConnell, who manages another jewel in the Deane crown, Deanes at Queen’s.
