Donegal soccer star Mark Farren has jetted out to Mexico along with wife Terri-Louise for revolutionary life-saving treatment.

Mark Farren and wife Terri-Louise have jetted off to Mexico for treatment in which they hope can save Mark’s life.

Greencastle native Farren was given a terrific send off on Saturday at a charity match organised to raise funds for his treatment.

A Derry City XI played a Northern Ireland XI with both teams being managed by current international managers Martin O’Neill and Michael O’Neill.

Farren’s former Derry City teammates David Forde, Paddy McCourt, James McClean and Kevin McHugh all played in a game that was stacked full of top-class talent.

Saturday’s game was just the latest gesture from the footballing fraternity in the North-West and all over Ireland who have rallied behind Derry’s all-time leading goal-scorer and his family since the news of his plight was revealed.

A staggering £41,000 has been raised which has enabled Farren to undergo this revolutionary treatment in an attempt to save his life.

We would like to wish Mark and his wife Terr-Louise a safe trip on their journey to Mexico and hope the surgery is successful.

Keep fighting Mark everybody is behind you.
