McGINLEY: UPSURGE IN BREAK-INS TO CARS

unnamed-14Sinn Féin Councillor Eric McGinley has made an appeal for the return of personal effects taken during the burglary of a car in the Ballymagroarty area at the weekend.

He said there has been a noticeable upsurge of cars being broken into in the district over the past few weeks.

Councillor McGinley said: To have your car being broken into and damaged at any time is bad enough with the  cost of getting it repaired but it is made all the worse when personal items are stolen  .In the latest case items such as a driver licence was taken.

“The person who owns the cars needs the licence for their work. I would make an appeal for anyone in the area who has found a licence, paperwork in the street of in a garden to hand it as soon as possible. And  if anyone sees suspicious activity around cars late at night to contact the police straight away.”
