EA SPORTS CUP: 2ND ROUND: Sligo Rovers 0-2 Derry City
Extra-time goals from Seamus Sharkey and Mark Timlin helped Derry City past 10-man Sligo Rovers after extra-time at The Showgrounds.
Daniel Ledwith was sent off in the 77th minute, just two minutes after coming on as a substitute, for a poor tackle on Seanan Clucas.
Sligo held on to force extra-time before Sharkey broke the deadlock in the 103rd minute.
Ireland U21 international Timlin then made the game safe for Derry seven minutes from the end, as the Bot o’Reds miserable start to the season continued.
