DETECTIVES are investigating after an elderly man has been left badly shaken when a gang of burglars broke into his home in Co Derry.
The gang of three men forced the door of the house in Thackery Place, Limavady, after 8 pm on Thursday and then ransacked the house.
Police, who have just released details about the burglary said they believe money was stolen from the man, who is in his 80s.
Investigating officer Detective Sgt Brian Reid said: “Thankfully the elderly gentleman was not injured in the incident but was left badly shaken.”
The officer appealed to witnesses to contact police on the 101 non emergency number or through the freephone Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
