PSNI officers have issued a public warning following the arrest of FIVE joyriders who stole a vehicle and drove like maniacs around estates. untitled (318)

Officers apprehended five joyriders in the Ballymac area of the city and also seized the vehicle they had stolen.

PSNI officers were quick to praise members of the public who contacted them about irresponsible and criminal actions of the joyriders.

They’ve asked the public to remain vigilant and said the people involved in crimes like this have no regard for their own safety or the safety of others.

PSNI Foyle Facebook page posted, “In the early hours of Tuesday morning Police were contacted by concerned members of the public about joyriders in the Ballymac area.

“This resulted in a stolen vehicle being seized and 5 joyriders apprehended.

“The persons who commit these offences are putting themselves and others at serious risk.

“We therefore want to thank all who called in.
