A number of Co Derry stores across the SuperValu, Centra and Mace retail groups have been selected as finalists in Musgrave Retail Partners prestigious ‘Store of the Year Awards’ on March 6 at the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle.

Musgrave Retail Partners organises the Gala Ball event each year for its 250 independent retailers in Northern Ireland across the SuperValu, Centra and Mace brands and finalists are selected using an independent audit of all stores, with each facing a rigorous process of checks and evaluations.

Finalists in each retail brand go head to head on the night with the chance to be crowned winner in each of their categories before competing for the coveted title of ‘Store of the Year’, sponsored by Allied Bakeries, Coca Cola Hellenic and Tayto.

A further fourteen stores which opened before October last year have been selected as finalists for ‘Newcomer of the Year’, sponsored by Kerry Foods.

Musgrave Retail Partners Acting Managing Director, Damian McCarney, said: “Congratulations to all of the SuperValu, Centra and Mace stores on achieving finalist status in the Store of the Year awards.

“Following the independent audit of all stores, the finalists have demonstrated the highest levels of customer service and offer customers a wide range of quality local products.

“Being named a finalist is a huge achievement in itself, with the 15 nominees being chosen from over 250 independent stores across the Musgrave Retail Partners Northern Ireland group.

“The judging process this year was as rigorous as ever and is part of a continuous drive to maintain the highest possible retail standards. Musgrave Retail Partners is proud to support these stores and we wish them the best of luck for the night,” Damian added.

Musgrave Retail Partners NI (MRPNI) supports over 250 independent retail stores in Northern Ireland, including SuperValu, Centra and Mace, with a combined turnover in excess of £600 million.

MRPNI is part of the Musgrave Group, the leading partner to more than 3,500 entrepreneurial retailers and food service professionals in the UK, Ireland and Spain.
