psni logoDetectives in Derry are appealing for information following an attack in the city which left three men in hospital in the early hours of this morning.

A number of people were attacked in the Ballyarnett Road area after which two men aged 20 and 30 and a 17-year-old boy were hurt.

They were taken to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment for their injuries.

“It appears to have been a pretty vicious attack,” said one local resident.

“There were loads of police and ambulances here.”

Detective Inspector John Wilson, who is leading the investigation, says enquiries are at an early stage.

He urged anyone who was in the area at the time to contact CID at Strand Road PSNI station.

If someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
