THE family of critically ill Derry woman Lisa Orsi are still at her beside today waiting on further test results.

But heartbroken mum Sharon has told followers on her Facebook page this morning that they are still braced for the worst news.

Lisa, from the city’s Waterside area, fell last week after going on a trip to Indonesia.

She has been transferred to Singapore for specialist treatment.

Doctors have now told the family that Lisa has been the victim of “extreme altitude sickness”.

Earlier this week, Sharon said her family were probably going to have to make the heartbreaking decision to turn off their daughter’s life support machine as she had little hope of recovery.

In her posting this morning, brave mum said: “Hi all. Thank you all for your support encouragement and beautiful words they are in themselves giving our family great strength and will to keep going.

“At the moment there are only 2 parts of the day’ the day part and the night part’. We feel we need to let you all know the story so far.

“As you all know we are all in Singapore and we requested some further tests to be done on our baby the results were as expected although there are 1 or 2 to do and results to get but we are not expecting anything other than what we all ready know.

“Due to the fact that Lisa,s illness happened in java and we are now in Singapore we have a lot of red tape to get through .

“Since we arrived we have been in great contact with Lisa ,s medical team and they have informed us that Lisa suffered from extreme altitude sickness and the perfect storm.

“We spent the day with our baby yesterday as Lisa’ Singapore brothers and sisters came to see and visit her we could not believe the numbers.

“Her GAA team have been fantastic and couldn’t be any more supportive and we will be eternally grateful to them as we are to you all for your words of encouragement and good wishes/will thank you all so much.

“We will be in contact with the Irish Ambassador today to discuss some of our concerns about our baby being repatriated.

“We will let you know when we know.

“God Bless you all. And thank you. XXX”
