burglarTHIEVES have struck again at homes across Derry – in the Cityside, Waterside and in Eglinton, police have confirmed to Derry Daily.

Detectives at Strand Road are appealing for information about a number of burglaries that occurred last night and in the early hours of this morning throughout the Derry and surrounding area.

Two burglaries occurred at houses close to Duncastle Road in the village of Newbuildings.

A further two burglaries occurred in Eglinton village in the area of Dunboyne Park and Brookview Glen.

Police received further reports of burglaries in the Glenmore Park area of the Waterside and Aberfoyle Crescent area of the Cityside.

The raids come after a dozen similar burglaries this month alone.

Detective Inspector David McQuade said: “Police are exploring possible links between these crimes and are particularly interested in hearing about suspicious vehicles in these areas.”

In addition to these household burglaries, a plumbing supplies business at Prehen Road was entered shortly after 3am yesterday, Thursday.

A till drawer was stolen.  Damage was caused to the front doors of the premises.

Information can be given on the police non-emergency number, 101, or by calling the Crimestoppers Charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
