CARNHILL WINDOW REPLACEMENT SCHEME CANCELLED TO FACILITATE BALLYMENA UPGRADE – HASSAN

Cllr Tony Hassan.

Sinn Féin Councillor Tony Hassan has said that he has been reliably informed that a window replacement scheme in Carnhill has been postponed in order to facilitate a similar scheme in Ballymena.

Councillor Hassan said: “Recently the Housing Executive embarked on a long awaited scheme to replace windows in the Carnhill area but work stopped after around three or four homes were completed.

“I have been informed that this was to facilitate the contractor to carry out a similar scheme in Ballymena.

“The residents of Carnhill have waited over three years for this scheme and the Housing Executive need to confirm if this work has been stopped in order for the contractor to work elsewhere.

“If this is true it is totally unacceptable and I will be demanding that the work recommence in Carnhill immediately.

“I will be in contact with senior management of the Housing Executive to find out what is the reason for the delay and get a timescale as to when this much needed work is completed.”
