maeve mclaughlinSinn Féin MLA Maeve McLaughlin will bring representatives of Derry’s addiction taskforce to meet health minister Jim Wells today to discuss treatment services in the north west.

The Foyle MLA said: “Providing effective treatment and services to those struggling with addiction is a key issue for all communities and one that we are all too aware of in the north west.

“I will be bringing representatives of the addiction taskforce to Stormont later today to meet with Health Minister Jim Wells to discuss concerns over addiction treatment services in Derry and the north west.

“The delegation will include those currently involved in delivering treatment services as well as parents of young people ‎struggling with addiction.

“It is important that the minister is aware of these important issues so that any gaps which exist in the current service will be addressed.

“Sinn Féin will continue to work with others from all sectors to ensure that appropriate addiction treatment ‎services are in place for everyone who needs them.”
