Emergency services are currently attending the scene of a two-car collision which occurred earlier this evening. 
The accident happened shortly after 10pm, just outside the popular Café Roc on the Strand Road.
The horror smash has caused traffic chaos in the area and the PSNI have placed diversions in the vicinity.
The PSNI are appealing to motorists to avoid the area if they possibly can.
It is not yet known if any occupants in the car have been seriously injured or not, but it is believed they’ve been transferred to Altnagelvin Hospital for further treatment.
The PSNI have issued an appeal to motorists to drive carefully over the festive period.
Driving conditions are very poor and visibility is strained as heavy rain continues to batter the city.
