Stephen O’Flynn now looks set to join Crusaders in January.

O’Flynn had admitted he held talks with Linfield manager Warren Feeney about the possibility of moving to Windsor Park in January.

Feeney had been impressed with O’Flynn who has netted eleven times this season in the Irish League.

They held primary talks and it looked certain he would join Linfield come January.

However, it now seems that Crusaders manager Stephen Baxter has launched a late raid in a desperate attempt to secure the signature of O’Flynn.

Paul Kee seems resigned to losing the services of O’Flynn and will no doubt be on the hunt to find a suitable replacement.

O’Flynn’s goals have been crucial for Institute this season and he netted again in their 1-1 draw with Glenavon on Friday night.

Next up for Institute is a trip to Solitude to face current league champions Cliftonville on Saturday afternoon.

Cliftonville will be aiming to bounce-back after suffering a shock defeat at the hands of Coleraine last weekend.
