INSTITUTE STRIKER O’FLYNN LOOKS SET TO JOIN LINFIELD

Institute FC look like they’ll have to prepare for life after Stephen O’Flynn as the talismanic striker looks set to join Linfield FC in January. untitled (179)

O’Flynn has been in stunning form for Paul Kee’s side all season and has scored 11 goals in all competitions.

He has also attracted interest from Glentoran and Coleraine but Linfield are the hot favourites to land the striker.

Paul Kee is desperate to hold on to O’Flynn but knows the temptation of joining Linfield could be too tempting to turn down.

O’Flynn has admitted primary talks have been held between himself and Warren Feeney, and with his girlfriend relocating to Belfast for work it’s almost certain he’ll join the Windsor Park outfit.

O’Flynn said, “I met with Warren last week, he made me an offer, so I have to a lot to think about.

“I’m aware of interest from other clubs too.

“My girlfriend has just relocated to Belfast due to work commitments so the move to Belfast would make sense for us.

However, O’Flynn insists he’s happy at Institute FC and says his impending move isn’t financially driven.

“Look there’s teenagers sitting on the bench getting the same money as me, I had the opportunity to join Coleraine in the summer but I’m happy at Institute.

“I stayed loyal to them because I believe in what they’re trying to do at the club.

“Keesy has held preliminary talks with me and offered me a coaching position, but there is still no offer on the table.

O’Flynn did admit that the prospect of joining a club fighting for silverware was a mouth watering prospect.

“I certainly would relish the opportunity to challenge for top honours and major trophies again, but it’s important I’m enjoying my football as well as being ambitious.
