Mayor of Derry Councillor Brenda Stevenson pictured at the Rural Tourism Awareness event being held today in the Belfray Country Inn.
The event marked the opening of Derry City Council’s Rural Development Project which will focus on key areas in terms of innovation and the growth of tourism in the rural Derry area across all sectors, including accommodation, cuisine, activity tourism, slow tourism and visitor attraction development.
The programme is funded by Derry City Council with matched funding from the European Regional Development Fund and Invest Northern Ireland, and builds upon the success of the recent three year ARC North West funded ‘Discover Faughan Valley’ – Rural Tourism Programme
