tvreceptionStrabane District Council’s Environmental Health Department has been called on to investigate the poor television reception in the Aghyaran of Castlederg as a  “matter of urgency.”

The call comes from Derg Sinn Feín Cllr Kieran McGuire who said the digital switchover had “proved less than smooth” for the people in the area.

Cllr McGuire added: “I have received numerous complaints regarding problems with TV reception over the past two years which has got considerably worse since the start of this year.

“Residents in Aghyaran are entitled to the same service as any other TV licence payer on the island- this issue needs to be addressed promptly.”

Cllr McGuire revealed he has Strabane District Council’s Environmental Health Department to investigate the issue immediately

He concluded: “I  will also be asking for a letter to be sent from council to Arqiva who were responsible for the digital switchover to see if they can shed any light on the situation.”
