GOLF NEWS: QUIGLEY/MCGOWAN CLAIM WINTER LEAGUE WIN AT LISFANNON

northwestgolfclubCiaran Quigley and Kevin McGowan made light of the strong winds and heavy rain showers to claim victory in week four of the Winter League at North West Golf Club at the weekend.

The returned a score of 39 points despite a “no score” at the tough opening hole.

Two points adrift in second place were Leo McGowan and Trevor Henderson, who with only four points after the opening four holes, battled well to add a further 33 points over the next 14 holes.

1st Ciaran Quigley (8) & Kevin McGowan (12) 39 pts

2nd Leo Mc Gowan (11) & Trevor Henderson (14) 37 pts

The final week of qualifying for the matchplay knockout rounds takes place this Sunday.

The league table is on display on the noticeboard outside the golf shop.

This Saturday sees the traditional ‘Halloween’ Open competition.
