Staff at Firstsource Solutions centres in Derry have helped the company raise £17,676 for charity.

Over the last six months employees have taken part in a number of charity fundraisers.

Most recently, staff in Derry supported Action Cancer through events including a Northern Ireland wide Shop Cares Challenge, a bake off, ice bucket challenges and football matches.

Laura Hourican, head of PR at Firstsource Solutions said supporting charitable causes was a “very important” aspect of the company’s CSR policy.

She added`: “Every year our teams across the UK and Ireland go that extra mile for charity and we are delighted with the amount that has been raised in the first six months of this year.

“Supporting charitable causes is a very important aspect of the company’s CSR policy. These charity events, which our centres run throughout the year, are an excellent way for staff to create a positive impact and make a difference within their local community.”

Local charities that have benefitted this year include:

• Action Cancer

• Foyle Search and Rescue

• CLIC Sargent

• Macmillan Cancer

• National Autistic Society of Northern Ireland

• Sports Relief

• British Heart Foundation
