altnagelvinhospitalsouthwingThe entrance for the Sperrin Unit at Altnagelvin Hospital is to change from next week.

The Western Health and Social Services Trust are advising the entrance point for its  chemotherapy and outpatient services at the hospital will be through the hospital’s main or South Wing Entrances.

The changes are part of preparation works for the building of the new Radiotherapy Unit at the hospital.

The current Sperrin Suite entrance will close at 6.00pm tomorrow and the new patient route will become operational from Monday next, 22 September.

Signage to the Sperrin Suite on the first floor of South Wing will be provided from the South Wing link corridor and additional posters will be in place.

Patients directly affected by the move have already received a letter describing the changes and outlining the new location of the chemotherapy and outpatient services.

A Trust spokesperson said: “All of the works have been carefully planned and the Trust will be doing its best to minimise any disruption in services.”
