Local businesses are being urged to get “in on the action” and help raise funds for breast screening in the North West.

SuperValu NI is teaming up with local cancer charity Action Cancer stage their second ever Legenderry Moonlight Walk.

The independent retail group is encouraging local SuperValu stores from the North West are getting behind the event and encouraging customers and stakeholders to register and take part in this worthwhile walk.

The Legenderry Moonlight walk, supported by SuperValu, will take place on Friday, 26 September next, beginning at Ebrington Square at 7.00pm.

The five mile walk will cross both the iconic Foyle and Peace Bridges. All participants are encouraged to dress in pink -the crazier the outfits the better – to help raise awareness of the charity’s services in the North West. Men and women, both young and old are encouraged to get involved in this fun-filled event in memory or support of a loved one with cancer.

Prizes will be given out on the night for the best dressed individuals and teams so it’s definitely worth putting some thought into those outfits! Entertainment starts from 6pm with the Q102 FM roadshow broadcasting from Ebrington Square.

Registration for the Legenderry MoonLight Walk is £10 (£5 for under 16s) and Action Cancer is encouraging participants to raise a minimum amount of £80 – the average cost of a mammogram provided by the charity. Sign up today and help to save a life!

Donna Morrison, SuperValu marketing manager, said: ‘We are very excited to be sponsoring the Legenderry Moonlight Walk.”

All of SuperValu stores based in and around are getting behind the event.

Donna added: “We want to encourage as many businesses as possible to get involved and party in pink with us to raise funds for and awareness of Action Cancer’s local services.’
