The Tower Hotel in Derry has been sold to Ireland’s Dalata hotel group in a deal worth £4.375 million.
The four-star, 93-room hotel – the only one within the city’s walls – will be rebranded as a Maldron hotel when the deal will be completed in October next.
Dalata owns a number of hotels in the Republic of Ireland as well as the Maldron in Belfast.
The company’s chief executive, Pat McCann, said they were delighted to “finally” have a hotel in Derry.
He added: “We are excited at the prospect of bringing new business to a city that has seen many positive changes in recent years.
“As part of a rapidly growing hotel group, our new colleagues can expect many opportunities for career development.”
