MAYOR WELCOMES MCGUINNESS COMMITMENT TO MAGEE

University Of Ulster, Magee College, Derry City, IrelandMartin McGuinness’s commitment to Magee University in Derry has been welcomed by the city’s Mayor, Cllr Brenda Stevenson.

The Deputy First Minister is to meet with the Minister for Employment and Learning Stephen Farry regarding the decision to put on hold the expansion of Derry campus of the University of Ulster..

Cllr Stevenson said she hoped the Mr McGuinness would be available to attend a meeting she has convened this Thursday to discuss the issue of Magee.

She added: “The meeting has been set up to discuss the next step forward in dealing with this important issue and the Deputy First Minister, MEPs, MLAs have all been invited to attend. It is important that the political voices of this city unite together to make a strong case for the expansion of the University of Ulster at Magee.”
