Derry Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper has welcomed the CultureTECH community training workshop taking place in the city on 18 September next and urged community groups to sign up to the initiative.

Cllr Cooper said the event was a “great opportunity” for community groups to engage in free media training being offered by professionals in the industry.

He added: “The digital media has grown to become one of the main sources on how we get our news, buy our goods and communicate through social media sites.

“Community groups can learn how to maximise the potential of their projects through the digital media and communicate more effectively with local communities.”

The programme, being hosted by VIEWdigital community media social enterprise and the North West Community Network, will take place in the Holywell Trust in Bishop Street and groups should register at [email protected] or telephone on 028 7127 9090.
