Van torcedA car stolen in the Waterside area of Londonderry last month has been recovered by police in the Galliagh area of the city.

The black Toyota Avensis, which was taken in a creeper burglary at a house at Deanfield (off Limavady Road) on 6 July was located  at Elaghmore Park on Wednesday evening last.

The car was taken after thieves gained entry to the house and stole the keys.

Reports indicated that it had been seen in the Ebrington area shortly before 2.00am that morning.

A PSNI spokesperson asked anyone who saw the car, which has an EKZ registration, being used or parked up, to call the detectives at Strand Road on the 101 non-emergency telephone number.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
