cityofderrygolfclubDetails have been announced of a new two-day Open Pairs Competition to played at the City of Derry Golf Club next month.

The competition, with a prize fund of £1,000, is being sponsored by local chartered accountancy practice, McDaid McCullough Moore, of Clarendon Street in the city.

The event will take place on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, 16 and 17 August next, and will be run on the basis of a two-person team of any combination, male and/or female.

Junior golfers with a handicap of 12 or less will be eligible to play.

The format will be fourball betterball with both overall and daily prizes.

The cost per player for the two days will be £15 for City of Derry members and £25 for visitors.

For his or her £25.00, each visitor will be able to play a free practice round on Friday, 15 August.

The closing date for entries is Wednesday, 13 August 2014 and forms are available from either the Professional’s Shop at City of Derry Golf Club, the club’s website at www.cityofderrygolfclub.com or by telephoning 028 71311496 or 048 71311496 from the Irish Republic.

Over 40 pairs have already entered so the timesheet is filling up very rapidly.

Michael McCullough, a partner in the competition sponsors, said the firm was delighted to be associated with a “high quality” event at a “first class venue.”
