Derry City returned to SSE Premier Division action to hammer Bray Wanderers 5-0 at the Brandywell this evening,

Two first half goals from man of the match Patrick Eleney set up the Canydstripes fourth consecutive win.

A pair from Rory Patterson and a strike from debutant Stephen Dooley in the second period took city’s unbeaten run to seven.

McEleney put City ahead in the 11th minute, firing home from 35 yards.

The midfielder doubled the lead 20 minutes later when he brilliantly found the net after being set up by Patterson.

McEleney returned  the favour – not once but twice in a ten minute period – Patterson giving McGuinness in the Bray goal no chance on each occasion.

Stephen Dooley, the latest signing at Brandywell who had come on as a second half substitute to make his debut, completed in the rout in the dying minutes.
