Derry girl Ashleigh Coyle has survived being evicted from the “Big Brother” house.

The former “Miss Derry” was one of four contestants nominated for eviction but the viewing public, who had been voted for four days, chose her fellow housemate Jale Karatrup to leave the house.

Ashleigh, who had been nominated by six of her fellow contestants –  Helen, Ash, Winston, Steven, Kimberley and Marlon – gets to stay in the house for at least another week.

Her mother, Mary, who was waiting outside the house to greet her if she had been evicted, said she was “very proud” of her 18-year-old daughter who spent five weeks living under the watchful eye of millions.

Jale becomes the fifth housemate to be evicted in the current series.
