Derry 2-19 Down 1-15

Derry booked their place against in next week’s Ulster Senior Hurling final with a comfortable win over Down in this afternoon’s semi-final replay at the Athletic Grounds in Armagh.

A Ruairi Convery goal from a 25 metre free in the 30th minute saw Derry lead at half-time on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-7.

Derry dominated the second period and at one stage led by 14 points on a scoreline of 2-18 to 0-10, the second goal coming from Michael Conway.

As Derry took their “foot of the pedal” – no doubt looking ahead to tomorrow week’s final against defending champions Antrim – Down reduced the deficit to seven points.
