galliaghDerry Sinn Councillor Elisha McCallion has called for new windows to be installed in homes in the Shantallow/Galliagh area, in particular Fergleen Park.

Cllr McCallion was speaking after her party received a number of complaints from residents.

She said: “Over recent months residents in the Shantallow/Galliagh  areas have been in contact with our office at Racecourse Road complaining about the state of the windows in their homes.

Sinn Féin  have been in contact with the Housing Executive on a number of issues in the  those areas  including the need for window replacement schemes.

“One of the areas of particular need is Fergleen Park.

She concluded:”I would call on the Housing Executive to have an urgent look at the state of the windows in these homes and see what can be done to bring forward a project for their replacement as speedily as possible .
