cityofderrygolfclubPrehen’s longest hitter, Tom McClintock (10), proved he had the short game as well to go with it to record an excellent win in City of Derry’s popular weekly Thursday Open.

A fabulous 43 points meant he had only dropped just three shots to par on the immaculately prepared Prehen greens.

Sean Coyle (22) had his best round so far of this season to take second place with his 41 points, three uncharacteristic double bogeys costing him dearly.

A well compiled 40 points enabled the fast improving Jason Cleere (17) to finish in third place.

Gross prize went to Kealan Quigg (0) on 38 points.

Former member at Prehen and now playing out of Foyle, Brendan Grimes (18), used his local knowledge to good effect to the visitors prize with 36 points.

Next week’s Thursday Open at Prehen will be sponsored by Heywood and Robinson who specialise in handmade kitchens and operatee out of Goshaden.
