Local school teacher Dermot Hegarty (20) was top of the class at City of Derry yesterday, taking first place in the Open Stableford with 43 points.
As well as securing first place he had the added reward of losing three shots off his handicap.
Simon Swaby (11) finished in second place with 42 points, with 23 of them coming on the back nine.
Kevin Green (16) was best of a trio on 39 points thanks to a favourable tie break going his way.
Aaron Taylor (1) was three under par on the front nine, didn’t do as well on the back nine but still ended up with the best gross on 35 points.
