Derry City “go west” tonight in the hope of completing a hat-trick of wins over Sligo Rovers

Tonight’s SSE Airtricity Premier Division clash at the Showgrounds is the third meeting between the sides this season.

A 1-0 league win for City at Brandywell earlier this year was followed up by a similar scoreline at the Showgrounds in the EA Sports Cup.

Derry will be without four players since both sides last met – Mark Stewart, Enda Curran, Roddy Collins Junior and Jon-Paul McGovern – all having left the club in recent weeks, McGovern earlier this week.

Sligo manager Ian Baraclough has David Cawley back after serving a one-match ban, but Gavin Peers remains ruled out with a knee injury.

Joseph Ndo, who returned to action in the FAI Cup defeat by Dundalk following a spell on the sidelines with a calf injury, is also expected to start.

Tonight’s game kicks off at 7.45pm will be City’s last game as the league takes a two week break due to the World Cup.

Derry’s next game will be on 27 June when they will entertain Dundalk in the Brandywell, a repeat of the recent EA Sports Cup (League Cup) clash which was won by the Oriel Park outfit.
