Traffic backed up on Buncrana Road this evening.

Traffic backed up on Buncrana Road this evening.

Frustrated motorists are this evening facing delays of up to half-an-hour on the Buncrana Road in Derry due to roadworks taking place from Skeoge Roundabout to the border.

Motorists are being advised to seek alternative routes as most of the work on the £395,000 road improvement scheme – due to be completed by 10 June next – is being carried out between 7.00pm and 7.00am.

The road will be closed completely on Saturday next, 7 June.

The resurfacing scheme on a 1.14km stretch of the road from Skeoge Roundabout to the N13 in the Republic began on Monday last.
