POSTINGLETTERDerry’s primary seven children will find out this weekend what post-primary school they will be attending from September next.

Over 3,600 pupils across the Western Education and Library Board (WELB) are due to start post primary education in September and parents/guardians will receive a letter from the Board this Saturday, 24 May, informing them of the post primary school which has been able to offer a place to their son or daughter in accordance with the school’s published admissions criteria.

A small number of parents/guardians whose children have not yet been placed at this stage of the procedure will also receive a letter from the Board on Saturday, advising them of the post primary school(s) within each District Council area which still have places available.

A WELB spokesperson said if parents/guardians have any further queries they should contact the post primary school in the first instance or alternatively the WELB’s School Admissions Office, telephone 028 8241 1460/1547.
