YOUNG MUM-TO-BE LEFT “GUTTED” AFTER HEARTLESS THIEVES RANSACK HER HOME

Burglar276A young Derry mum-to-be has been left devastated after her home was ransacked by heartless thieves while she was in hospital.

The 24-year-old, who is 29 weeks pregnant, was admitted to hospital yesterday due to complications.

However, she was released this morning but when she returned to her Whitebridge home on Coshquin Road on the outskirts of the city – which she had only moved into a month ago –  she found the back patio doors smashed in and the house ransacked.

Among the items taken was a new Sky box, a Pandora bracelet and other jewellery as well as an amount of cash.

The house next door was also broken into and “wrecked.”

Appealing for help in getting the items returned, the girl’s mother said the incident had left her “gutted.”

She said: “She’s gutted and given her complications, has done her no favours.”

She added: “The next door neighbour’s house to her was also broke into and wrecked.

“The people weren’t there so no idea what was taken.

“If people could keep an ear to the ground, would be appreciated.”
