Van torcedThe PSNI believe travelling criminals from Dublin were behind the theft of two high value cars in Strabane at the weekend.

They believe the thefts may be linked to a number of incidents in the Clady area.

On Saturday morning, the owners of an Audi A5 and an Audi A6 discovered their vehicles had been stolen overnight from Carrick Strand in Strabane.

A third car, a Ford Mondeo, was entered and ransacked in the same area.

In Clady, an attempt was made to steal a Citroen Xsara car from Dunowen Park on Sunday night or yesterday morning, while during the same period a handbag was stolen from a Ford Fiesta.

Criminals also entered a house and stole two laptop computers and other valuable items.

A PSNI spokesperson asked anyone with information to telephone the non-emergency 101 number, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
