FootballFanad United. 1 Derry City Reserves 4

A young Fanad United side were no match for the very impressive Derry City Reserves at Traigh-a-Loch.

The visitors took the lead as early as the second minute when Ciaran Harkin made no mistake when he got on the end of a Nathan Boyle cross.

Derry went two up 10 minutes later when Cormac Burke headed home a Shay Dunlop cross.

Fanad pulled a goal back when David Edwards capitalised on a mix-up in the Derry defence to find the bottom corner from close range.

Derry responded in spectacular fashion two minutes later when Cormac Burke unleashed an unstoppable swerving shot into the top corner from 30 yards.

Conor McDermott extended the lead five minutes later when he got on the end of a Michael Barr cross to head home.

Fanad United: Shane Graham, Ronan Sweeney (Oisin Hasset 60), Joe Friel, Declan Sweeney, Kevin Murray, Glenn McNulty (Shay Durning 13), Dean McCarry, Brian McVeigh, David Edwards, Johnny Logue, Conor Mathewson (Kyle Burke 41).

Derry City Reserves: Ciaran Gallagher, Shay Dunlop, Mark Timlin, Conor Barr, Caolan McLaughlin, Cormac Burke, Ciaran Harkin, Nathan Boyle, Conal Kelly, Conor McDermott, Michael Barr.
