Big Shu fell at the fourth fence of this afternoon’s Crabbie’s Grand National bringing an early end to Derry’s hope of having a winner in the world’s greatest horse race.

The nine-year-old gelding, owned by Derry man Hugh Duffy and ridden by Peter Buchanan, had come in in the betting to 16/1 before the off.

The race was won by 25/1 shot Pineau De Re.
