DERRY HOST CHAMPS ST PAT’S AT BRANDYWELL TONIGHT

Derry City manager Roddy Collins.

Derry City play host to defending champions St Patrick’s Athletic in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division at Brandywell tonight (kick off 7.30pm).

New City boss Roddy Collins is still waiting on his first league win but is confident of achieving that this evening following last week’s 1-1 away draw with Drogheda United, a game the Brandywell should have won.

The Dubliner had a number of injury concerns midweek with Barry Molloy and Ryan McBride among those picking up slight knocks.

However, they have recovered and Collins is expected to have a full squad to choose for.

St Pat’s have made a stuttering start to the defence of their title, winning one and drawing two of their games so far.

Derry have recorded just two league wins from their last 10 meetings against Liam Buckley’s side and could do with a rare victory over the champions to kick-start their season.

Referee for tonight’s game is Paul McLaughlin, from Monaghan.
