McGOVERN AND MCNAMEE INCLUDED IN DERRY SQUAD FOR VISIT OF CORK

Roddy Collins’ final signing Jon-Paul McGovern is in line to make his Derry City debut after being named in the squad for today’s SSE Premier Division clash with Cork City at Brandywell (kick off 3.15pm).

The signature of the 33-year-old Scottish midfielder was captured by Collins shortly before City’s opening game in this season’s campaign – a 1-1 draw away to Shamrock Rovers last Sunday.

Midfielder Barry McNamee, who missed last week’s clash at Tallaght Stadium in Dublin, is available after recovering from injury.

Collins was relatively pleased with last week’s performance which saw his side robbed of all three points deep into injury time.

And he knows his side cannot afford to relax against the Leesiders who opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to champions St Patrick’s Athletic.
